A connected motorcycle wheel manufacturing process

See how materials and components move through machining, finishing, assembly and inspection to become products ready for shipment.

Production Capability

Built for coordinated supply

Backed by Chongqing Tengcheng Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Phyda coordinates hub die casting, CNC machining, rim preparation, surface finishing and wheel assembly. Production stages and inspection points follow the agreed product specification.

CNC machining of a motorcycle wheel hub

The sequence below is a general overview. Applicable stages and their order vary by product; individual rims and hubs do not pass through every wheel-assembly step.

1

Raw-material preparation

Materials and component blanks are prepared for the production order. Material requirements, dimensions and quantities are checked against the agreed specification before processing.

2

Hub die casting

Hub blanks are formed using the applicable die and casting process. The castings are reviewed for visible defects and suitability for the next machining stage.

3

CNC machining

Specified bores, bearing seats and mounting surfaces are machined to the approved drawing. Critical dimensions are checked against the tolerances agreed for the component.

4

Rim and component preparation

Rims and related components are prepared to the required size and configuration. Rim profile, spoke-hole arrangement and matching components are reviewed for the intended assembly.

5

Coating and surface finishing

The agreed coating or surface finish is applied to the relevant components. Appearance, coverage and any specified finish requirements are reviewed against the approved reference.

6

Wheel lacing

The rim and hub are connected with the specified spokes and nipples. Spoke length, orientation and lacing pattern follow the agreed wheel configuration.

7

Wheel adjustment

The laced wheel is adjusted to bring spoke tension, radial runout and lateral runout within the agreed requirements. Wheel alignment is reviewed before final acceptance.

8

Inspection

Applicable dimensions, finish and assembly characteristics are checked against the approved specification. Any nonconforming items require review before release to the next stage.

9

Final assembly

Any remaining components included in the order are fitted as specified. The completed supply configuration is checked against the approved parts list and assembly requirements.

10

Packaging

Products are protected and packed according to the agreed packing method. Product identification, quantities and carton details are checked before shipment preparation.
